Living
In 1950s London, a humorless civil servant (Bill Nighy) decides to take time off work to reconsider and better experience his life after receiving a grim diagnosis. Living is a British drama film directed by Oliver Hermanus from a screenplay by Nobel winning author, Kazuo Ishiguro. It was adapted from the 1952 acclaimed Japanese film, Ikiru, directed by Akira Kurosawa which was in turn inspired by the Russian novella The Death of Ivan Ilyich by Leo Tolstoy. The film has won 8 international awards and has been nominated for 45 others including two Academy Award nominations for Best Actor(Bill Nighy) and Best Adapted Screenplay (Kazuo Ishiguro).
