Paul Templeton, a lifelong Ancaster resident, has deep roots in the community. His journey in music began with local open mics and playing guitar at Marshall Memorial United Church, where he’s been performing since 2008. After personal tragedy struck in 2011, Paul found his songwriting voice, leading to the release of his first album. Now, with years of songwriting and personal growth behind him, Paul is ready to share his second collection of original songs with his hometown audience.
Backed by some of Hamilton’s finest musicians, including Carl Jennings, Tim Jennings, and Matt Gormley of Freedom Train, Paul’s live performance promises to be an unforgettable experience. Pedal steel guitar virtuoso C.J. Altmann will also be joining the lineup, bringing his unique sound to the stage and adding depth to Paul’s heartfelt songs.
The album, I’m On A Roll, is a blend of 60s and 70s influences mixed with Paul’s personal take on themes like friendship, love, loss, and fast cars. The title track, “I’m On A Roll,” is a high-energy anthem about love and speed, while other tracks explore more introspective emotions. Paul’s ability to weave personal stories into universally relatable themes makes this concert one that music lovers of all kinds will enjoy.
Opening the show will be Annette Haas, a talented singer-songwriter who has been gaining recognition for her authentic performances. Annette’s recent Loretta Lynn tribute at the Ancaster Memorial Arts Centre captivated audiences, and she’s sure to set the tone for a memorable evening.
