Pearl: A Janis Joplin Experience

November 6, 2026
$65+HST

Pearl is built around one of rock’s most singular voices. Fronted by Christina Leroux and backed by a 9-piece band, the show draws from Cheap Thrills, I Got Dem Ol’ Kozmic Blues Again Mama!, and Pearl, bringing Janis Joplin’s music back to the stage through songs like “Piece of My Heart,” “Cry Baby,” and “Me and Bobby McGee.”

Janis Joplin’s story moved quickly, but it left a deep mark. She grew up in Texas, sang loud, and then arrived in San Francisco in the mid-1960s and became the voice that pushed Big Brother and the Holding Company into national view. By the time Cheap Thrills was released, the songs were vivid, exposed, and delivered by someone who sang while holding nothing back. Her move into a solo career only sharpened that. Pearl was Janis’s last album, and for many listeners it is still the record that best captures how much more she had to give.

What keeps Janis current is that the records still feel exposed and personal. “Piece of My Heart,” “Cry Baby,” “Move Over,” and “Me and Bobby McGee” sound lived in. That is why her music still reaches people who first heard her in real time and people who found her much later. She was only active at the top for a few years, but she remains one of the great rock and blues singers of all time.

Peller Hall is an accessible venue with parking available behind Memorial and in nearby lots, and bar service on site. Each show will be presented in two 60-minute sets with a break in between for drinks. Tickets are available only through our box office online or at 905 304 3232.
